It's Time Campaign Web Site Receives Award
July 25, 2005

Richmond, Va. – Virginians for Better Transportation (VBT) has been awarded a 2005 Virginia Public Relations Merit Award for the It’s Time campaign Web site. The Richmond, Va. integrated marketing firm Charles Ryan Associates’ interactive division, REV Interactive, created the site.

The It’s Time Web site is part of a statewide public awareness initiative to educate members of the public about the transportation funding crisis facing the Commonwealth. The campaign was launched in late April in Richmond.

The site features flash animation of airplanes, trains, mass transit, ports and vehicles on roadways, emphasizing the need for long-term, multimodal solutions to the transportation funding crisis facing the Commonwealth.

Viewers can download materials, sign up as supporters of VBT and register to receive frequent e-mail updates about issues pertaining to the campaign. They can also e-mail questions to VBT representatives and submit their transportation challenge and success stories.

“The It’s Time Web site is very user-friendly and provides important information about the transportation funding issue,” Dick Daugherity, VBT steering committee coordinator, said.

“The Web site is an integral component of the ongoing communications efforts for this campaign. These efforts allow VBT to educate members of the public about the critical issues surrounding transportation and how it will affect every Virginian’s quality of life if long-term, multimodal solutions are not determined quickly.”
