"While we support and applaud the Governor's initiative, it is not a transportation fix – it is a temporary measure that would provide some immediate relief," said Daugherity. "It would buy some time to develop a more comprehensive solution to the transportation funding crisis. Virginians must focus on developing and implementing a long-term, sustainable solution that addresses a safe, efficient transportation system to meet today's needs, as well as those of the future," he said.
