“As a lifelong citizen of Virginia, and a business owner for more than 20 years, I have witnessed the many different cycles of leadership in the Commonwealth. The current attitude toward adequate transportation funding expressed by many of our elected leaders prohibits Virginia from maintaining its status as a world-class economy and prominent ‘destination’ for new businesses, citizens and lifelong learning and enjoyment.
“Adequate transportation is key to the quality of life of all Virginians. It is crucial for us, as a Commonwealth, to effectively maintain our stature as a world leader in commerce and to provide the necessary conduit for an ever-changing market. It is a core responsibility of the government to provide an effective means of transportation for its citizens and the goods and services they provide to maintain a healthy economic climate.”
