WHO WE ARE
Virginians for Better Transportation (VBT) is a diverse and expanding advocacy group working to implement statewide, multi-modal transportation solutions through increased, dedicated and sustainable funding and responsible business practices. VBT is conducting a public awareness campaign to educate Virginians about the Commonwealth's transportation funding challenges and the essential role transportation plays in the quality of life of all citizens. It's time for a comprehensive, long-term solution.

“I know of very few things in today's world which impact our lives as do our highways. At each end of the spectrum, from public safety - 42,000 plus killed ever year – to monetary losses exceeding $200 billion, transportation affects us all.

“After 37 years of personal involvement with highway/transportation issues and concerns, I felt compelled to become involved with a coalition such as VBT.”

The colonel served as superintendent of the Virginia State Police when the events of 9/11 took place, as well as when the infamous sniper shootings occurred. He is married and has three children and four grandchildren.
